6th International Water Conference

The 6th water conference was the closing event of the Italian-German Co-Presidency of the Water Management Platform. It took place on the 12th of October 2016 on the Herrenchiemsee Island (Germany). The three sessions where each devoted to one of the topics of the mandate 2015-2016. Around 60 international experts on water related issues listened to excellent talks and took the chance to benefit from the experience of colleagues from the Alpine states. The first session was dedicated to the dialogue between the Water Framework Directive and the Flood Directive. During the second session the interactions of sediment transport with fluvial geomorphology were emphasized. The last session highlighted the importance of the right communication of water-related issues.
