We are Alps 2018: Alpine Population and Culture in a nutshell

From 28 June to 1 July, the fifth edition of the We are Alps tour took 11 journalists coming from Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland and Austria to a dozen of different sites in Carinthia (Austria), Gorenjska (Slovenia) and Friuli Venezia Giulia (Italy).

There, local partners provided them with insights into both the cultural heritage of the Alps and current cultural and demographic issues, and demonstrated their different ways to approach them. This even included the participants joining in some singing, dancing and cooking!
As usual, the journey also aimed at demonstrating the use of sustainable transport in the Alps and the group travelled mostly by train, bus, bicycle and on foot. The blog of the tour and the gallery give an insight into the experiences made by the participants. The resulting articles and broadcasts are being uploaded on the webpage as they are released.
