The EUSALP AG6 Work Program is approved

Last week, the EUSALP Action Group 6 formally adopted its work program for the upcoming two years through written procedure. AG6 deals with the preservation and valorization of natural resources, including water as well as cultural resources and focuses on three sub-topics: Spatial planning and soil conservation, future oriented farming and forestry and sustainable and integrated water management. The three sub-groups established for the sub-topics have defined a set of activities, which include e.g. a tool box on “less land take” and on soil protection for stakeholders on regional and local level, the establishment of a knowledge network for the promotion and marketing of food and forest products and a sustainable strategy for water-demand and supply management. Secretary General Markus Reiterer welcomed this step and pointed out that “Now it is up to us all to put these plans into action”. First results are expected in fall 2017.
