The SDGs and the Alpine Convention

The Alpine Convention has been working for the sustainable development and protection of the Alps since its founding over 30 years ago. Long before the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were established, the eight Alpine countries and the European Union had already come together to work for a more sustainable development of the Alpine region.

To showcase our work over the past 30 years, we have developed a new interactive tool which shows the connections between our publications, core documents, and activities and the SDGs. You can select by Alpine Convention topic to see which SDGs they contribute to.

In addition, sliders at the bottom of the individual sub-pages illustrate the strength of the relationship between, for example, a specific publication and the relevant SDGs.

We hope you enjoy exploring the new tool and learning more about the Alpine Convention’s contribution to sustainable life in the Alps!
