The Alpine Convention at home in Tyrol

On 4 November, Secretary General of the Alpine Convention Alenka Smerkolj paid a first courtesy visit to the Governor of Tyrol, Günther Platter. During this meeting various opportunities for cooperation between the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention and its host Region were discussed.

Governor Platter emphasized the ongoing good collaboration within the EU Strategy of the Alpine Region, EUSALP, in particular within the Action Group 4 on Mobility and Action Group 6 on natural and cultural resources. Moreover, the Governor declared himself satisfied with the involvement of representatives of the Working Community of Alpine Regions ARGE ALP, whose Secretariat is integrated into the administration of Tyrol, as observers in four Working Groups (WG) of the Alpine Convention (WG Transport, Large Ungulates and Society, Mountain Agriculture and Mountain Forestry and the WG Soil Protection).
