The cyclist dreams of doing the same on earth as the fish in the water or the bird in the air, even as he works against the constraints of space.
– Marc Augé, In praise of the bicycle
As the days grow longer and brighter, we would like to highlight the upcoming international “MoVe the Alps” conference on cycling tourism in the Alpine space. The conference will take place online on 22 April 2021 and will address the topic of how to promote sustainable cycling tourism in the Alpine space.
“MoVe the Alps” is intended to spark an exchange of ideas, strategies, and developments from local to international level. Examples of ongoing and planned projects focused on sustainable cycling will also be presented to show the important work that is already being carried out.
The conference will be translated into all Alpine languages as well as English. Participation is free of charge.
We hope you will join us as we pedal towards a more sustainable future!
The “MoVe the Alps” conference is being organised by the Swiss Federal Office for Spatial Development ARE with the support of the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention in the context of the Swiss Presidency of the Alpine Convention.
