Reading Mountains Festival 2022

The eighth edition the Reading Mountains Festival was once again a tribute to the creativity of the organisers whose events put mountains and literature centre stage! This year, the Festival followed the theme of International Mountain Day 2022 – “Women move mountains” – and helped spread the inspiring stories of women in the mountains. The many events shone a light on the role women play in environmental protection as well as the social and economic development of mountain areas.

Thank you to all the visitors who took the time to join one of more than 100 events organised under the umbrella of the Festival across the Alps (and beyond). For the first time, the Reading Mountain Festival also crossed to a mountain range on the other side of the world! Together with the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), we organised a series of events in Kathmandu, Nepal.

My warmest congratulations and gratitude goes to all the partners and participants who helped show that the sky is the limit when it comes to celebrating our Alps!
