They act as a beacon for traditional mountain culture while promoting sustainable, low-impact tourism and mountaineering. These villages combine a love for hospitality, a deep respect for the environment, and access to varied opportunities for activities in the mountains.
The mountaineering villages are committed to the implementation of the Alpine Convention and a sustainable life in the Alps.
