Be Part of the Mountain

In addition to the impact of climate change growing mass tourism is putting more and more pressure on the alpine ecosystems. It is therefore of great importance that flora and fauna are not further put under stress by tourism and outdoor sport activities. Be Part of the Mountain (BPM) aims to inform people about their impact on nature and to give advice on how to behave outdoors.

After the success of the BPM winter campaign, the project is now being relaunched and expanded with a summer campaign. In addition, a social media campaign will be launched with the aim of reaching a larger audience. This joint project is being carried out together with the parks, public bodies, and other partners and is promoted, e.g., by the joint charter, the BPM website and ambassadors in order to achieve an even more successful and widespread communication.

The initiative is financed by the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) with funds from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection.
