More facts and figures, together with a presentation of the activities that were initiated by the Permanent Secretariat in the preceding years, are now bundled in the “Activity Report 2017-2019”.
Ambassador Markus Reiterer: “For sixteen years now, the Secretariat has been drawing on its strong mission, its vitality and the energy and engagement to help addressing the challenges for sustainability in the Alps and find innovative approaches. Also in the last two years we provided the best possible support to the Contracting Parties and fulfilled the commitment to pursue, together with the Contracting Parties, the Observers and other partners of the Alpine Convention, the preservation of the Alpine natural and cultural diversity and the promotion of sustainable development in the Alps. For the past six years it was my privilege and honor to serve as the Convention’s Secretary General”.
