Save the date! AlpWeek Intermezzo 2020

9-11 December 2020 in Nice, France.

Just like its sister event, AlpWeek, which takes place every four years, AlpWeek Intermezzo is an international event co-organised by the leading Alpine organisations committed to mountain protection and sustainable development. The city of Nice, located at the tip of the Alpine Arc, will be hosting this open-access event this year in an exceptional Alpine setting. AlpWeek Intermezzo 2020 will lead on from the events to mark the close of the French Presidency of the Alpine Convention and the EUSALP, bringing together stakeholders from this range of Alpine cooperative frameworks.

Youth & Climate

How can young people in the Alps be involved in shaping their future?

The living environment and occupations considered today as typically ‘Alpine’ will no doubt evolve in the future, due in particular to climate change. The AlpWeek Intermezzo 2020 will focus on what this means for younger generations. How do young people perceive the changes in landscapes and natural environment linked to climate change?  What environment will they live in?

Are you part of this younger generation, a member of a non-profit organisation, do you work in an educational institution, incubator or careers guidance organisation, are you a researcher, civil servant, politician, or simply an Alpine inhabitant? Come and share your perspective and experience with a view to drafting out solutions together to help involve young people in this fast-paced change in our environment, societies and economies.

A detailed programme will be available soon! To find out more: AlpWeek Intermezzo 2020
