Reading Mountains Festival 2025

The 2025 Reading Mountains Festival was once again a colourful celebration of Alpine literature and culture with 111 events organised across and beyond the Alps! The eleventh edition of the Festival consisted of a diverse programme of book readings, film screenings, crafting workshops, and many more events organised in honour of International Mountain Day on 11 December 2025. Together, they brought together enthusiasts of both mountains and literature, paid tribute to the rich cultural heritage of the Alps, and raised awareness about Alpine-relevant topics. 

My heartfelt thanks goes to the team of the Permanent Secretariat, our Infopoints, and the countless local partners, authors and musicians, bookshops, libraries, and schools who enriched the Festival with their contributions. You are the ones who fill the Reading Mountains Festival with life each year! And thanks also to all the visitors who joined us and shared in the spirit of this year’s Festival.
