MultiBios

MultiBios: Multiple risks in biosphere reserves - Management of multiple hydroclimatic risks to improve socio-ecological resilience

In addition to known natural hazards such as mudslides and floods, heatwaves and droughts are also affecting the Alpine region more and more frequently. Together with biosphere reserves, the international MultiBios project is researching how affected communities and regions can better prepare for multiple climate risks.

Project goals

  • Investigate and strengthen the role of biosphere reserves in natural hazard management
  • Improve cooperation between scientists and local stakeholders to strengthen the climate resilience of regions
