The Alpine Convention Infopoint in the Soča Valley Development Center in Tolmin was established in 2017. As a regional development agency, the centre brings new ideas, knowledge, opportunities, and development resources to the Northern Primorska region, especially in the Upper Soča Valley. 

It promotes sustainable development in the areas of mobility, entrepreneurship, human resources, and rural areas, and co-creates an environment with a high quality of life for all generations, also with a cross-border perspective. The Tolmin Infopoint integrates the Alpine Convention and its Protocols into its daily work, projects, and other activities. It regularly participates in the Reading Mountains Festival and the Young Academics Award, contributes to the Alpine Convention Day in Slovenia, hosts the Constructive Alps exhibition, and joins various initiatives to achieve the goals of the Convention. The Infopoint was also one of the organisers of the 2024 edition of the AlpWeek, an international conference dedicated to Alpine topics, that took place in Nova Gorica in September 2024.
