During the past weekend the 22. memorial Danilo Re took place in the Gesäuse National park with 36 participating teams. Amongst them, for the first time, also a team from the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention. During the “sustainable Alpine parks Olympic Games” participants from protected areas across the Alps competed in four disciplines: the giant slalom, cross-country skiing, ski mountaineering and shooting. More importantly, the participants had a chance to participate at a workshop on “feeling the Alpine landscape” and remembering their colleague Danilo Re, who gave his life serving and protecting the Alps.
