As the first event under the Austrian Presidency of the Alpine Convention a conference on cross border cooperation between Slovenia and Austria took place in Tainach/Tinje on Friday 21. October 2016. The main topics of discussions were demographic changes, sustainable tourism and green economy in the Alps. Experts, national and regional decision-makers and mayors discussed possibilities to improve and deepen cooperation in the future. Secretary General Reiterer said that “We need more events like this in the Alps: linking politics, science and practice and the national as well as the local level by discussing the most important issues for the territory. This is what brings the Alpine Convention into practice”.
