ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND MOUNTAINS: Is environmental law adapted to the challenges faced by mountain areas? Innsbruck, 27-28 April 2010 If you are interested, you can read the presentations and the written submissions of the speakers HERE.
- Representatives of several alpine regions signed a declaration of an Alpine Strategy* on March 12th, 2010, in Mittenwald (DE) stressing the need for an European Alpine Strategy for the most important mountain area in Europe. It shall complement the existing Baltic Sea Strategy for a marine area and the Danube strategy which is going to be prepared for an important river catchment area and furthermore highlight the European relevance of the Alps. The Alpine Strategy is expected to be elaborated and steered by the regions themselves.
