Alpine-wide research and observation is based on local, regional, national and international data and information. Specific networks on different themes have been established, either for the timeframe of a project or on a permanent basis when reporting on obligations of various laws.
Eionet is a partnership network of the European Environment Agency (EEA) and its members and cooperating countries involve approximately 900 experts and more than 300 national institutions. The network supports the collection and organisation of data and the development and dissemination of information concerning Europe’s environment.
The International Scientific Committee on research in the Alps (ISCAR) is a network of research institutions whose goal is to exchange information on Alpine research.
